Canoeing at Sourisford / Coulter Park

The Souris River offers a beautiful, winding route for canoeing at Sourisford / Coulter Park, with scenic views of the prairie landscape and local wildlife. However, water levels can vary greatly depending on the season!

Tips for Canoeing on the Souris River:

Best Time to Canoe:
Spring to early summer (May to June) is usually the best time, when snowmelt and spring rains keep the river flowing well.

Check Water Levels:
Before planning a trip, it’s a good idea to check local water conditions

Prepare for Portages:
Later in the season, you might need to portage (carry your canoe over dry patches), especially in areas where the riverbed is more exposed.
