FUN FACT! The Souris River at Sourisford / Coulter Park, is also known as the Mouse River in the United States, originates in southeastern Saskatchewan, meanders through North Dakota, and re-enters Canada in southwestern Manitoba. It eventually joins the Assiniboine River near Wawanesa, Manitoba.

The Souris River offers a beautiful, winding route for canoeing at Sourisford / Coulter Park, with scenic views of the prairie landscape and local wildlife. However, water levels can vary greatly depending on the season!
Best Time to Canoe:
Spring to early summer (May to June) is usually the best time, when snowmelt and spring rains keep the river flowing well.

Later in the season, you might need to portage (carry your canoe over dry patches), especially in areas where the riverbed is more exposed.
